Who We Are
The founder of BLX has over 25 years of experience within the leather, kink, and BDSM community. BLX was formed to provide Kink/BDSM education through a Black and Brown lens. We pay Black and Brown educators for their labor and discuss leather, kink, and BDSM from a LGBTQIA+ Black and Brown experience, which is lacking within the community.
Chief Executive Officer
Alison or Sir Raven (she/her/they), as they are known in the leather, kink, and BDSM community, has over 25 years of experience—mentoring and teaching in the community. See workshops here They have held positions in organizations such as ONYX Pearls New York/NE 2008-2010, as the secretary of the first iteration. Several years later, they spearheaded the creation of the second iteration of the organization in 2016 and assisted in creating and serving on the board for 4 years.
They also held several positions in the MAsT Metro New York group of masters and slaves together. Feeling as if that group had moved from its queer origins along with other masters created MAsT Manhattan.
Currently, They serve as the secretary for The Effing Foundation for Sex Positivity.
And has been featured in GO Magazine’s 100 Women We Love, class of 2023.
In their “muggle” life They provide public service in one of the city’s public libraries and have positioned themselves in their professional life to create spaces for Queer/Trans/GNC teens. Creating a space of safety, creativity, and understanding. As a leader in the world of public libraries, They train and coach staff to understand all communities assisting in curating collections that welcome a variety of communities that may still be stealthy. They also make themselves visible at public community events, and school outreach events to talk about the programming they offer teens and seniors.
