Who We Are

Two of the founders of BLX, held leadership positions in the ONYX organization.

Chief Program Officer

Mari or Liquid (she/they/them/that Bitch) as they are known in the BDSM/Fetish community, served as the chapter’s VP. They also taught classes while lending their years of experience and community service by shining a light on the chapter to the greater BDSM/ Fetish/Leather community.   

In their “vanilla life,” kink activist Liquid is a social worker who has dedicated their career to the field of aging. While social work might not have an obvious connection to the kink world, the most rewarding part of both, is having the ability to amplify voices while providing education, resources, and tools that empower those in marginalized communities at various stages of their lives.” In their social work, Liquid has helped some of society’s most vulnerable, including older adults and those living with HIV/AIDS.

Chief Executive Officer

Alison or Sir Raven (she/her/they) as they are known in the BDSM community was the secretary of the first iteration of the New York/NE ONYX Pearls chapter 2008-2010. Several years later they spearheaded the creation of the second iteration of the organization. 2016 and assisted in creating and serving on the board for 4 years.

They also serve as the secretary for The Effing Foundation for Sex Positivity.

And has been featured in GO Magazine’s 100 Women We Love, class of 2023

In their “muggle” life they provide public service in one of the city’s public libraries and have positioned themselves in their professional life to create spaces for Queer/Trans/GNC teens. Creating a space of safety, creativity, and understanding. As a leader in the world of public libraries, they not only train and coach staff to understand all communities, but to curate collections that welcome a variety of communities that may still be stealthy. They also make themselves visible at public community events, and school outreach events to talk about the kinds of programming they offer teens.

Business Manager

Kat or Vendetta (they/she) is an avid arts and STEAM advocate who feels a strong connection to the principles of social entrepreneurship, particularly centered around arts-integrated racial and economic justice.

Kat was first in their family to attend college, start a business, and get a Master’s Degree. In February 2021, they were honored by the New York City Council and the Chair of the Arts and Culture Committee for community service and a lifetime of philanthropy as part of Black History Month celebrations.

Kat serves as the board president for The Effing Foundation for Sex Positivity.
